Job Description / Responsibility
- Purpose:To oversee the coordination of the R&D department and spot areas of growth.
- To constantly develop and improve the product range through materials sourcing, product analysis and sample development to meet customer requirements and achieve company sales targets.
- Job Description :To work closely with merchandising, customers, mills and factories by actively participate to R&D Concepts by contributing new ideas, pinpointing new product trends, textile technologies and suggesting best sales opportunities, so as to translating new concepts into commercially visible designs within the set requirements and aim to maximize overall sales performance.
- To support and handle sourcing & development of new qualities, co-ordinate with the Fabric team, to ensure products are developed appropriately and customer satisfaction is exceeded.
- To support and handle sample development and mock-ups by coordinating with suppliers and mills, to achieve customer requirements
- To research & analyze product trends by keeping abreast of the latest offerings from the market and coordinating with suppliers and/or mills, to gain competitive market intelligence and be able to produce commercially visible designs.
- To assist the merchandisers in presenting new season collection by supporting the customer meetings and promotional events, to increase customer satisfaction and sales opportunities.
- To attend local trade shows, travel to supplier and/or vendors to report on new innovation and development back to merchandisers and buyers.
- To maintain the fabric/yarn/trim libraries, as well as the showroom with up to date pricing
- To prepare the showroom & product presentations for customer visits to showcase the abilities of the market and increase customer awareness

Educational Requirements

Bachelor of Arts/ Diploma graduate level in Fashion Design, Textile or Clothing
Experience Requirements
- At least 3 year(s)
Additional Job Requirements
- Knowledge of sample making, mock-up and swatches and be able to comment and feedback to suppliers sample makers and engineers in the development and costing of product
- Sound fashion sense and good understanding of textile quality
- Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel & PowerPoint with the ability to convey information and product inspiration in a visually compelling and on-brand format
- Good command of written & spoken English. Knowledge in Bangla is a plus
- Good background and knowledge of Yarn and Materials Sourcing & Development, Garment Construction and Sample Development in the area of flat knit, circular knit and woven.
- Minimum of 3 years� commercial designing/merchandising experience in Fashion, Garments or Textile Understanding of knitwear & woven production techniques in order to develop / modify designs to reach a target price
